Fruits and vegetables:
Friend unauthorized bringing fresh plants or plant products into Finland from outside the EU without a phytosanitary certificate. Since it is almost impossible for an individual to obtain a phytosanitary certificate, this means that in practice, fresh fruits, berries and vegetables cannot be brought into Finland from Vietnam.
This certificate is not required for banana, durian, pineapple or coconut. You can bring in frozen, dried and preserved products, as well as coffee and tea without phytosanitary certificate.
Products of animal origin:
Imports of products of animal origin from outside the EU are subject to strictly prohibited because they risk spreading animal diseases.
Meat, fish and milk:
When you arrive in Finland from Vietnam, you are not allowed to bring any of the following products:
- Meat
- Meat products
- Milk
- Dairy products.
Guests can bring up to 2 kg powdered milk for babies for personal use.
You can also bring chocolate as a gift even if it contains milk.
You are allowed to bring 20 kg of seafood products.
Other foods of animal origin:
You can import other products such as honey, eggs, snails and frog legs in quantities not exceeding 2 kg.
You can import up to 125 grams of caviar. If you want to bring more caviar, you will need a CITES export permit from your country of departure.
Animal feed:
Animal-based foods for pets impossible imported from outside the EU. For example, you cannot import cat food or dog food that contains meat, chicken or fish.
However, if you are traveling with a pet, you can bring food that your pet needs for health reasons.
Foods not restricted:
You can bring to Finland
- Candy and chocolate.
- Cookies, cakes and other baked goods should not be mixed or stuffed with concentrated meat products.
